Licensed Clinical Social Worker

Registered Play Therapist Supervisor

Somatic Experiencing Practitioner

Early on in my career, I began to see patterns and behaviors that could not be explained. I saw the need to get to the root of the problem, not just a band-aid, and teach more than just skills. This is when I took interest in treating traumatic experiences. I first completed training in TF-CBT and then completed EMDR training. I began to realize how important our early experiences are, what roles attachment plays, and crucial it is to involve the right brain in processing. This is when I completed play therapy training and obtained my RPT-S. (Registered Play Therapist-Supervisor) In my experiences, I often saw that trauma often does not have words and can be trapped in our nervous system. I am now diving deep into somatic experiencing in hope of resolving trauma, unlocking this trapped energy, and being able to help others more effectively on a day-to-day basis.

I am integrative in my approach to therapy but rely heavily on the therapeutic relationship as a catalyst of change. I am open minded, genuine, nonjudgmental and believe in the value, healing, and growth within the relationship and the power of being seen and heard. I have over 14 years’ experience in the field and work with children as young as 2, adolescents, and adults of all ages and am LBGQT friendly. I also have training in theraplay techniques, mindfulness, sand tray, expressive art techniques, CBT, Child Centered Play Therapy, Ego-State Therapy, and Emotionally Focused Individual Therapy. I will be certified in EMDR at the end of the summer. I am a firm believer in meeting the client where they are and use a brain-based approach to integrate treatment. I am passionate about helping others and continue to learn daily.

Making that first step can be difficult, therapy can be uncertain or feel scary. I strive to make it as comfortable as possible. Therapy serves as a safe place, provides an opportunity to learn new skills, and allows us to own our story. Brene Brown, renowned author, states that vulnerability is emotional risk, exposure, and uncertainty and is the most accurate measurement of courage. I would love to be given the opportunity to be part of your journey.
